A shelf of ready-made work

The Marketplace is where we keep the skills, templates and routines we’ve built and tested for grant work. You pick one, add it, and it shows up in your workspace as a copy you own. Change it however you like. When we improve the original, you decide whether to take the update.

Open it from Marketplace in the sidebar. It opens on top of whatever you’re doing, so you don’t lose your place.

What’s on the shelf

The tabs across the top sort it by type: All, Skills, Templates and Routines.

  • A skill teaches the AI how to do one job well, like drafting a grant or reviewing a draft. Once you add one, it’s in your skill list in chat. Grant Writing, Review & Polish and Boilerplate are skills.
  • A template is a starting document you fill in. The Nonprofit Profile is a template.
  • A routine is work that runs on a schedule without you asking. Daily Check and Prospect Scout are routines.

Each card shows what the item is and, once you’ve added it, where your copy stands: Added, Customized (you’ve edited your copy) or Update available. A card marked Coming soon is one we’re still finishing. You can see it, but you can’t add it yet.

Adding an item

Click a card to open its page. A skill or template has three tabs:

  • Overview says what it does and when to use it.
  • Contents shows the actual text you’ll get, plus any example files that come with it. Switch between Rendered and Raw to read it either way.
  • Versions lists each release and what changed.

Click Add to workspace. Here’s where things land:

  • A skill goes in your Skills folder, in a folder of its own.
  • A template goes in your Templates folder.
  • A routine goes in Routines.

A skill or template you add is an ordinary file in your workspace. Open it, edit it, make it sound like you. It’s yours.

If you already have it

Most workspaces started with a set of skills already in place. If you open one of those and click Add to workspace, Grantable links the copy you have so it can get updates. Your files aren’t changed.

When an update ships

An item you’ve added shows Update available when we publish a new version. What happens next depends on whether you’ve edited your copy.

  • If you haven’t, Update to the new version replaces your copy in one click. The old one stays in the file’s version history.
  • If you have, Review update in chat opens a chat that walks through the differences with you. It applies only the edits you confirm, so your own changes stay put.

The two built-in routines

New workspaces start with Daily Check and Prospect Scout. They live in Routines, and they come as built-in routines rather than copies to edit.

  • Daily Check looks over what’s in flight each weekday and emails you the one thing worth telling or asking you, like a missing piece holding up an application or a deadline coming up. When nothing needs you, it stays quiet. If you don’t respond for five days it slows to once a week, and it stops after a month with no activity in the workspace.
  • Prospect Scout searches for new grants on a schedule and sends you the strongest new fit. It works from your organization profile, so it waits until you have one, and it turns itself off if none shows up within a week. It also turns itself off after three of its emails in a row go unopened.

You can pause or delete either one in Routines. If you delete one and later want it back, find it in the Marketplace and click Add to workspace.

Tip: You don’t have to browse to use a skill. Type / in chat to pick one, or just ask for what you need in plain words.
