Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP) is a dynamic professional membership association which serves Texas health-system pharmacy professionals dedicated to the mission, vision, core values, philosophy, soul, spirit, and motto of TSHP. Mission: Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy is a strong and vibrant membership-driven society of pharmacists, technicians, students, and professional colleagues who advocate for optimized patient care, professional practice, and public health. Vision: Leading the pharmacy profession by advancing patient care. TSHP Research and Education Foundation The TSHP R&E Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health outcomes for Texans by funding numerous activities that advance healthcare through pharmacy research and education. The TSHP Research and Education (R&E) Foundation has been advancing health-system pharmacy practice though education, research, and professional development since 1977. Today, the Foundation’s managed assets and cash total around $918,000. TSHP R&E Foundation Scholarships The TSHP Research & Education (R&E) Foundation has been supporting our pharmacy community in Texas since 1977, reminding us of our shared strength in helping one another. Scholarships of $500 to $1,500 are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarships from the Foundation are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic ability and career interest. The University of Texas at El Paso School of Pharmacy (UTEP SOP)/EPASHP Scholarship The El Paso Area Society of Health-System Pharmacists Scholarship was initially established in 2002 to recognize outstanding pharmacy leadership skills for students native to the El Paso area attending any accredited pharmacy school of their choice. With the advent of the newly established UTEP SOP, this scholarship has been re-named to provide scholarship opportunities for pharmacy students who are native to the El Paso area and are attending UTEP. If no applicants meet these criteria, preference will be given to pharmacy students native to the El Paso or West Texas area attending any accredited pharmacy school, or other student the scholarship committee feels meets the requirements.

Eligibility

Applicants should: Be enrolled in the UTEP SOP or UTEP-UT COOP, and Be in good academic standing - GPA may be considered in the selection process, and Be able to demonstrate leadership qualities in school and/or community activities, and Be a student member of TSHP or their state ASHP-affiliate chapter, and Be a native of the El Paso area (preferably) or West Texas as well as New Mexico to the West and Oklahoma to the North.
