Austin Area Society of Health-System Pharmacists Scholarship Grant

The Austin Area Society of Health-System Pharmacists Scholarship, established in 1998, supports students enrolled in the Pharm.D. program at the University of Texas. This scholarship, ranging from $500 to $1,500, prioritizes applicants based on financial need rather than academic achievement. Preference is given to members of the University of Texas Student chapter of TSHP, promoting community and professional engagement within Texas's health-system pharmacy sector.

The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy (TSHP) is a dynamic professional membership association which serves Texas health-system pharmacy professionals dedicated to the mission, vision, core values, philosophy, soul, spirit, and motto of TSHP.

TSHP Research and Education Foundation
The TSHP R&E Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health outcomes for Texans by funding numerous activities that advance healthcare through pharmacy research and education. The TSHP Research and Education (R&E) Foundation has been advancing health-system pharmacy practice though education, research, and professional development since 1977. Today, the Foundation’s managed assets and cash total around $918,000.
TSHP R&E Foundation Scholarships
Scholarships of $500 to $1,500 are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarships from the Foundation are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic ability and career interest.
Austin Area Society of Health-System Pharmacists Scholarship
The Austin Area Society of Health-System Pharmacists Scholarship was established in 1998. The scholarship is awarded to students currently enrolled at The University of Texas College of Pharmacy in either a professional or post-graduate degree program. The scholarship will be awarded on “need” basis, not scholastic achievement. Members of the University of Texas Student chapter of TSHP shall be given priority over all other students. In the event that there are no AASHP members who apply for a scholarship in this category at The University of Texas, the scholarship shall be awarded to a member of AACP who is enrolled in a post-entry degree program at another School/College of Pharmacy.

Eligibility

Applicants should:
Be in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th year (P2, P3 or P4) student enrolled in the Pharm.D. program at the University of Texas, andBe currently working in a health-system pharmacy or have worked in one while attending the school/college of pharmacy.Graduate Students should:

• Be enrolled in a post-entry level degree program in pharmacy, and
• Be a member of the Austin Area Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
• If no applicants meet the criteria above, the Scholarship Committee will pick an alternative applicant from other scholarship applicants.
