Robert G. Leonard Memorial Scholarship Grant

The Robert G. Leonard Memorial Scholarship, offered by the TSHP Research and Education Foundation, supports students enrolled in the Pharm.D. program at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. This scholarship honors Bob Leonard, an esteemed educator, and provides financial assistance ranging from $500 to $1,500 based on need, academic performance, and commitment to the pharmacy profession. The aim is to foster the next generation of pharmacy professionals in Texas.

TSHP Research and Education Foundation
The TSHP R&E Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health outcomes for Texans by funding numerous activities that advance healthcare through pharmacy research and education. Today, the Foundation’s managed assets and cash total around $918,000.
TSHP R&E Foundation Scholarships
Scholarships of $500 to $1,500 are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarships from the Foundation are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic ability and career interest.
The Robert G. Leonard Memorial Scholarship is presented to a student currently enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. Bob Leonard was one of the original faculty members to bring the Pharm.D. program to Texas and to UT when he joined the faculty in 1973. His brilliant career, work as an outstanding educator and active involvement in professional organizational life was cut short by his untimely death in 1981.

Eligibility

Applicants should:
Be a member of the TSHP Student Section, andBe enrolled in the Pharm.D. program at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy, andBe active in professional undergraduate activities, including their TSHP student chapter,Have a grade point average of 3.00 or better, andDemonstrate commitment and compassion for others and the pharmacy profession through community service.
