Safeway Foundation - Denver Grants

The Safeway Foundation offers grants to nonprofit organizations in Denver, focusing on health, hunger, education, veterans, and diversity. Grants typically range from $500 to $5,000 for first-time applicants, with higher amounts available for established organizations. Outside of a specific RFP, a first-time funded organization will typically receive a grant of $500 to $5,000. Once we have some history with an organization, we will entertain a request at a higher value.

Eligibility

Denver includes the following areas: CO, WY, NE, NM, and SDWe only support organizations with a valid 501(c)(3) designation from the IRS and schools recognized by the government.Organizations we fund must serve the community where we operate.A nondiscrimination policy will be requested of all applicants.

Ineligibility

Although we would love to help everyone, the Foundation generally does not fund:Individuals or for-profit organizationsPolitical organizations or activitiesReligious organizations for religious purposesCapital or building campaignsAdvocacy programsMeetings, conferences or workshopsSports teams or athletic competitionsOther foundations or granting organizationsFundraising dinners, galas, and events. We generally do not sponsor these events because the sponsorship is not fully deductible and because we prefer that our funds go directly to program services rather than offsetting event expenses.
