Ruth Foundation Grant

The Ruth Foundation offers ongoing support for non-profit organizations focused on animal welfare and marine life preservation in Pierce County, Washington. With no submission deadline for Letters of Intent (LOI), applicants are encouraged to allow 12-16 weeks for a response. The foundation seeks to empower community initiatives that align with the Milgard family values, while ensuring compliance with tax-exempt requirements and promoting inclusivity in grant eligibility.

Note: There is no deadline for submitting a LOI. Our foundations board reviews the LOI’s on an ongoing basis, but we ask that you allow 12-16 weeks for a response. The response time can vary depending on the volume of requests, the timing of proposals and our foundations monthly and quarterly review schedules.
The Legacy Foundations
Our foundations support the work of a wide variety of non-profit organizations that serve our communities. The foundations are guided by the values of the Milgard family and represent the passions of the individual board members.
The Ruth Foundation supports organizations primarily in Pierce County, Washington that focus on and provide direct services for animal welfare and marine life preservation. The foundation also supports some pre-selected homelessness initiatives.
The Ruth Foundation funding priority areas are animal welfare, marine life preservation and some pre-selected homelessness initiatives.

Eligibility

Grant Requirements

All applicant organizations must qualify as tax-exempt organizations under the Internal Revenue Code. Grants to any one organization will generally not be approved more often than once a year and will not constitute a guarantee of future funding.
Grant application cover letter must be signed by the Executive Director of the organization.
