Program Description: Annual grant program that distributes proceeds from Nashville Earth Day festival to support local environmental initiatives across Nashville, Tennessee.

• Nashville, Tennessee and Middle Tennessee region
• Focus on public spaces across the city

Focus Areas

Projects are primarily focused on:
• Bees - beekeeping programs and apiary support
• Trees - tree planting and forest restoration
• Water - stream cleanup, water quality monitoring, riparian restoration
• Pollinator gardens - native pollinator habitat creation and maintenance
• Sustainability - composting programs, waste reduction, environmental education
• Education - K-12 environmental education, teacher training, community education

Past Award Examples (2025)

• Beekeeping programs: $48,000 distributed across 17 projects
• Individual projects ranged from small garden installations to multi-phase restoration efforts
• Past years: 2024 ($60,000 across 21 projects); 2023 ($50,000 across 15 projects); 2022 ($25,000 across 6 projects)

Program History

• Started in 2020
• Has distributed $208,000 total (as of 2025) to environmental initiatives
• Since 2020: funded planting of 380+ trees, cared for 1.8+ million bees, planted/improved 32+ community and pollinator gardens, cleaned up 16 waterways
