Overview:
LEEF provides financial support for AP test fees and dual-credit textbooks for economically disadvantaged Leander ISD high school students. This initiative enables first-generation college and economically disadvantaged students to access college-level coursework and earn college credits before high school graduation, reducing overall college costs and supporting postsecondary success.

Program History:

Program initiated in 2014 with support from Dr. Chris Stansbury (Wired Orthodontics)

Dr. Stansbury funded the AP test program at $10,000 annually for many years

LEEF has invested approximately $150,000 over 10 years in these initiatives

Has supported over 2,000 high school students

What is Funded:

Advanced Placement (AP) Tests

• AP test registration and administration fees
• Covers costs for economically disadvantaged students

Dual-Credit Coursework

• Dual-credit textbook costs
• Allows qualified high school students to earn both high school and college credit
• Courses are tuition-free, but textbooks are not

Eligibility:

Leander ISD high school students

Identified as economically disadvantaged

Enrolled in AP courses or dual-credit programs

First-generation college students prioritized

Strategic Alignment:

Part of LEEF's strategic initiative to increase postsecondary success

Supports career and college readiness for all LISD students

Enables students to complete degrees in less than 4 years
