Year-End Emergency Grants

Award Amount: Varies year to year ($30,000 to $110,000+ total distributed; varies by recipient organization)

Geographic Scope: Culpeper, Madison, and Orange counties, Virginia

Mission & Focus Areas:
The Foundation's Board of Directors awards year-end grants to address critical community needs for residents including:

• Food security: food pantries, meal programs, nutritional support
• Shelter: homeless services, winter shelter programs, housing assistance
• Medical care: emergency medications, medical equipment, dental services, mammography programs
• Support for vulnerable populations: elderly emergency services, postpartum support programs, senior center nutritional programs and fellowship
• Healthcare education: scholarships for students pursuing health-related education at community colleges

Eligible Applicants: Nonprofit organizations and safety-net agencies serving Culpeper, Madison, and Orange counties

Award Criteria: The Foundation awards grants when unspent funds are available to meet critical needs identified by the Board, with focus on organizations that:

• Provide food, shelter, and medical services
• Address gaps in funding due to closures of other funding sources (e.g., United Way)
• Serve vulnerable populations
