Women's Philanthropy Leadership Council (WPLC) Grants

Geographic Scope: Indiana University system (all IU campuses)

Background: Established in 2012, WPLC has awarded nearly $1.3+ million to over 130 projects across all Indiana University campuses over more than a decade.

Eligible Applicants: All Indiana University community members, including students, faculty, and staff with a vision and capacity to manage grant money

Funding Focus Areas:

• Improving public health
• Creating service-learning experiences (global and/or domestic) for IU students
• Supporting leadership initiatives
• Promoting and advancing STEM disciplines
• Providing educational and cultural enrichment to the greater IU community
• Developing a culture of philanthropy to benefit the IU community
• Projects impacting diverse constituents, particularly those with historic disadvantages
• Establishing a more equitable and inclusive environment at Indiana University

Award Range: $2,500 - $25,000 (historically $2,000 - $20,000 in earlier cycles)

Recent Award Activity:

• 2021 grant cycle: $165,000 awarded to 14 projects across 7 IU campuses
• 2022 grant cycle: $230,857 awarded to 19 projects across 7 IU campuses
• 2023 grant cycle: Part of combined Affinity Giving awards ($456,000+ total across all affinity groups)
