Queer Philanthropy Circle (QPC) Grants

Geographic Scope: Indiana University system (5+ IU campuses)

Background: Established in 2019, the QPC has committed $234,000+ in grants for projects at IU Bloomington, Kokomo, School of Medicine, and throughout the university system as of 2022-2023.

Mission: The QPC is committed to making Indiana University more welcoming, equitable, and accessible for the queer (LGBTQ+) community.

Eligible Applicants: All Indiana University community members, including students, faculty, and staff with a vision and capacity to manage grant money

Funding Focus Areas:

• Supporting the LGBTQ+ community at Indiana University
• Mental health outreach and support for LGBTQ+ students
• Medical support and gender-affirming care for LGBTQ+ students
• Support for queer student organizations and cultural centers
• Fine arts and cultural programming for LGBTQ+ community
• Infrastructure improvements to enhance student-friendly spaces (e.g., LGBTQ+ Culture Centers)
• Educational programming and speaker series
• Creating safe spaces and support networks

Recent Award Activity:

• 2022 grant cycle (inaugural): $208,700 awarded to 10 projects; 22 applications reviewed, 9 invited to present
• 2023 grant cycle: Part of combined Affinity Giving awards ($456,000+ total across all affinity groups)
