WISE (Wisconsin Senior Employment)

WISE provides unemployed adults aged 55 and older with part-time, paid work experience in community service organizations. On-the-job experience helps build and improve participants' skills for permanent employment.

Target Population:

• 55 years of age or older
• Unemployed and wanting to work
• Limited income
• Wisconsin residents

Services Include:

• Individual job counseling
• Comprehensive assessment
• Individual employment plan development
• Part-time paid work placement in community service organizations

Work Opportunity Areas:

• Clerical/Office
• Food Service
• Custodial
• Adult/Child Day Care

Program Wage: $7.25/hour (Federal & State minimum wage)

Application Process

1. Register for the WISE program through Employ Milwaukee
2. Participate in individual job counseling session
3. Complete comprehensive assessment
4. Work with WISE Coordinator to develop individual employment plan
5. Receive placement into part-time work experience
