MediWork$

Overview: MediWork$ is an occupational skill development program providing eight weeks of healthcare administration career training at no cost to participants. Developed to open doors for young adults and adults from low-income and minority communities to find and succeed in well-paying healthcare jobs leading to lasting careers.

Target Population:

  • Young adults and adults from low-income communities

  • Individuals from minority communities

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Basic computer skills required
  • Career Tracks:

  • Medical Records Specialist

  • Customer Service Representative

  • Medical Secretary/Administrative Assistant

  • Appointment Scheduler
  • Program Features:

  • Eight-week training program (at no cost)

  • Topics include: healthcare fundamentals, workplace professionalism, preparing for employment

  • Public-private partnership model

  • Exclusive access for employer partners to graduation ceremony and hiring event

  • Pre-enrollment eligibility assessment by Employ Milwaukee
  • Geographic Scope: Southeastern Wisconsin (expanding from Los Angeles and Seattle locations)

    For Job Seekers:

  • Join the waitlist for future cohorts (April 2026 cohort at capacity)

  • Submit application through Employ Milwaukee

  • Pre-enrollment eligibility assessment conducted by Employ Milwaukee

  • Upon acceptance, enroll in eight-week training program at no cost
  • Eligibility Requirements:
