Adult and Dislocated Worker Programs (WIOA)

Overview: WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker Programs provide access to career and training services that help achieve employment goals. Services include workforce preparation activities, financial literacy, and coordination with other support programs.

Target Population:

  • Workers who have been laid off (or notified of layoff) through no fault of their own

  • Dislocated workers

  • Adults seeking career and training services
  • Services Include:

  • Workforce Preparation Activities (resume development, interviewing techniques workshops led by experts)

  • Financial Literacy Services

  • Coordination with English Language Acquisition programs

  • Coordination with Adult Basic Education

  • Occupational Skills Training

  • On-the-Job Training (OJT)

  • Job Readiness Training

  • Customized Training
  • Cost: No-cost services available to eligible dislocated workers

    2. Attend an initial intake and assessment appointment

    3. Participate in career services planning:
    - Resume development workshop
    - Interviewing techniques training
    - Financial literacy services
    - Individual career planning

    4. Enroll in appropriate training services based on individual needs and learning style

    5. Access supportive services and coordination with other programs as needed

  • Laid off workers or those notified of layoff through no fault of their own
