Support-A-Scholar Program

Overview: A dual-enrollment program that helps Kutztown Area School District students access college-level courses while still in high school, with financial support from the Education Foundation to remove barriers and make the opportunity accessible to all families.

Geographic Scope: Kutztown Area School District, Pennsylvania

Program Details:

Students Served (2025-26): 53 Kutztown students

College Courses: 72 college-level courses available

Grade Levels: 10th, 11th, and 12th grades

Partner Institutions:

- Kutztown University
- Penn State Berks
- Reading Area Community College
- Other universities (varies)

Benefits:

Students earn college credits that transfer to many universities

Reduces future tuition costs for families

Removes financial barriers to participation

Strengthens academic preparation

Improves financial futures

Funding Goal: $10,000 needed by May 1, 2026 to sustain program and provide partial reimbursements

Program History: Began in 2019-2020 school year
