Overview

Shasta Chapter CNPS Shasta Chapter of the California Native Plant Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization that depends on the dedication, hard work, and initiative of our members. We are governed by an Executive Board, which includes chairs of committees that guide Chapter activities and functions. Shasta Chapter serves Shasta, Modoc, Lassen, and Siskiyou counties in northern California. Although our area is sparsely populated, we are proud of a high per-capita membership rate, reflecting the interests of the outdoor-loving people in the north state. We enjoy meeting and educating others at our programs, projects, and field trips. Acorn Grant Our Acorn Grant program is designed for area educators who wish to promote a practical knowledge of California native plants or plant habitats on a K-12 school campus. The grants can be used to purchase materials such as native plants, native plant literature, and garden supplies. The grants are intended to supply educators with the necessary materials to give students a practical and hands-on experience in the growing and care of California’s native plants.
