Overview

Shasta Chapter The mission of the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) is to increase the understanding and appreciation of California’s native plants and to conserve them and their natural habitats through education, science, advocacy, horticulture, and land stewardship. The CNPS - Shasta Chapter is the local society serving Shasta, Lassen, Modoc, Trinity, and Siskiyou Counties whose members strive to support the overall mission of CNPS. One of the ways in which the Shasta Chapter supports the CNPS mission to increase the understanding and appreciation of California’s native plants is through the Oak Tree Grant Program (OTGP). Oak Tree Grant The objective of our Oak Tree Grant program is to support general public endeavors to gain better awareness of California native plants and native plant habitats. The monetary and/or material awards can be used for gardening and landscaping projects, public nature walks, library projects, or general plant studies. The grants can be used for the purchase of native plants, native plant literature, and gardening and landscaping supplies.
