Educator Grants

Funder: Sierra Foothills Audubon Society (SFAS)

Purpose: Fund projects or initiatives that aim to raise awareness, knowledge and understanding of birds and the habitats and complex food webs which support them

Geographic Scope: Northern California (Nevada, Placer, Yuba, Plumas, and El Dorado Counties)

    Eligibility

  • Schools and teachers
  • Must have a clear project plan that aligns with SFAS mission to educate the public about conserving and restoring natural ecosystems that focus on birds and their habitats

  • Bird boxes
  • Binoculars
  • Field guides
  • Transportation costs
  • Online training packages from Cornell Labs
  • Materials for students from the National Audubon Society
  • Research expenses
  • Project materials and supplies
  • Other direct project costs

    Review Process

  • Applications accepted at any time
  • Reviewed within 60 days of submission
  • An itemized budget must be submitted with the application
  • Post-purchase receipts should be submitted
  • Photographs of students using purchased materials or services are appreciated
  • Letters from students are appreciated
