Non-profit Organization Grants

Funder: Sierra Foothills Audubon Society (SFAS)

Purpose: Support community-based projects that enhance public awareness of bird populations and the complex food webs which support them, and promote conservation of their habitats

Geographic Scope: Northern California (Nevada, Placer, Yuba, Plumas, and El Dorado Counties)

    Eligibility

  • Non-profit organizations
  • Must have a clear project plan that aligns with SFAS mission to educate the public about conserving and restoring natural ecosystems that focus on birds and their habitats
  • Objectives should be measurable and achievable within 12 months of approval

  • Bird boxes
  • Binoculars
  • Field guides
  • Transportation costs
  • Online training packages from Cornell Labs
  • Materials from the National Audubon Society
  • Research expenses
  • Project materials and supplies
  • Other direct project costs

    Review Process

  • Applications accepted on or before January 31st
  • Reviewed within 60 days of submission
  • An itemized budget must be submitted with the application
  • Post-purchase receipts will be required with the grant final report
  • SFAS Education Committee evaluates proposals based on alignment with SFAS goals and cost-benefit ratio
