'Separately from our quarterly grants, Community West Foundation supports families by offering community meals, food pantries, clothing and more. The Schindler Assistance Fund, named in honor of Senior Grantmaker Peter Schindler for his 27 years of dedicated service to the Foundation, is designed to benefit these "hidden helpers" in our community.' Eligibility: 'Places of worship located within Western Cuyahoga County and Lorain County that offer programs that help disadvantaged individuals and families are eligible to apply. Applicants must hold a current tax exempt status as a public charity under Section 501(c)(3) ... Community West Foundation grant partners are not eligible to apply.' Grants range from a minimum of $250 to a maximum of $2,500; organizations may request one grant per year, must spend funds for the intended purpose, and must report on the project within 12 months.
