About Us We are the Northern Indiana Community Foundation (NICF), consisting of Starke, Fulton, and Miami County Community Foundations—three of ninety-four throughout Indiana. This incredible network is inspiring the formation of other community foundations across the country. Indiana is at the forefront of the community foundation world and is setting the stage by exemplifying the incredible work that these organizations do. Grant Making areas of interest are: EducationHealthHuman ServiceArts & CultureEnvironmental Community DevelopmentRecreationYouth Development The Community Foundation places a lower priority on the following: Projects where Starke County Community Foundation is the sole funderReduction of debtGrants to individualsTravelAttendance at conferences, seminars or other projectsPrograms that fall more appropriately under government funding, such as operating expenses for public schoolsand police or fire protection. (schools should complete a Community Education Grant)
