Matching capital grant program for nonprofits with real estate needs directly associated with providing essential health and human services in community spaces.

Geographic Scope

Statewide Indiana - All 92 Indiana counties served through local United Way member organizations

Funding Tiers

• Tier 1: $50,000 - $200,000
• Tier 2: $200,001 - $1,500,000

Match Requirement

• 1:1 match required - Applicants must match grant funds dollar-for-dollar

Eligibility

• Organization Type: Nonprofit organizations
• Project Focus: Real estate projects directly associated with providing essential health and human services in community spaces
• Requirement: Must apply in collaboration with a local IUW Member United Way
• Process: Must have endorsement from local United Way and answer eligibility questions

Application Window

• Open: January 8, 2024 - March 31, 2028
• Rolling application period during this window

How to Apply

Step 1: Contact Your Local United Way

1. Identify which local United Way serves your county
2. Contact them to learn about their capital projects evaluation process
3. Work with them to obtain their endorsement for your application

Step 2: Prepare Eligibility Documentation

1. Answer all eligibility questions required by SCPI
2. Document that your project involves real estate needs for health and human services
3. Prepare evidence of local United Way endorsement

Step 3: Submit Application

1. Submit through local United Way partner
2. Include endorsement letter from local United Way
3. Include responses to eligibility questions
4. Document your 1:1 match commitment (required)
