Background

Established in 2024 by the Sonoma Plein Air Foundation Board in recognition of Judy Vadasz's visionary contributions as cofounder, board member, and patron since 2002. Judy currently serves as Director Emeritus of the board in an advisory role.

Purpose

To help grow art education in Sonoma Valley by providing financial support for art education certification for Sonoma Valley elementary school teachers. This scholarship directly responds to the increasing need for elementary teachers certified to teach art classes and the decreasing financial support available to qualified, interested individuals.

Eligibility

• Must be: A teacher in the Sonoma Valley Unified School District
• Intent: Desire to become certified to teach art in grades K-5
• Requirements:
- Proof of acceptance into an art education certificate program - Recommendation from their current school principal
