Geographic Scope: Castro Valley High School (CVHS) seniors, Castro Valley, CA

Focus Areas: All arts disciplines presented at the Castro Valley Center for the Arts, including but not limited to:

• Theatre Arts
• Music (choir, performance)
• Dance
• Visual arts
• Cinematic arts

Eligibility:

• College-bound CVHS seniors
• Must have contributed to arts programs at the Castro Valley Center for the Arts
• Must graduate in the same school year as application

Award Details:

• Multiple scholarships awarded each year
• Includes specific named scholarships:
  • Melissa and James Phillips Scholarship - funded by private donations and community concession purchases
  • Aufdermauer Scholarship - funded by private donations and community concession purchases

Program History:

• Initiated in 2009
• Originally conceived as Theatre Arts scholarship
• Expanded in 2011 to include all arts disciplines

Application Process

1. Obtain Application: Applications are available through the Castro Valley Education Foundation each spring for CVHS seniors who will graduate in that same school year
2. Review and Selection: All applications are reviewed by members of the CVAF Board
3. Award Distribution: Scholarships are distributed at the CVHS Senior Awards night
