JLR Scholarship

Funder: The Junior League of Reading, PA, Inc.

Award Amount: $5,000 to one young woman

Geographic Scope: Berks County, Pennsylvania

Eligibility:

  • Must have graduated or will be graduating in Spring 2026 from a Berks County public or private high school

  • Plan to continue education at a college, university, vocational school, or professional school

  • Qualified for educational expenses only
  • Selection Criteria (Rubric):
    Applications are judged against the following weighted rubric:

  • Academic Achievement: 15%

  • Leadership Activities: 25%

  • Career Goals/Objectives: 15%

  • Recommendations: 20%

  • Community Spirit: 25%
  • Award Recognition:

  • Scholarship winner will be notified on April 24

  • Winner honored with two guests of her choice at the Junior League of Reading's annual dinner (held in May)
