Overview
International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund
Overview: Provides scholarships for international women students to pursue graduate study in the U.S. or Canada. Scholarship based upon demonstrated need; however, award is not intended to cover all academic or personal expenses.
Award Amount: Maximum of $12,500. Lesser amounts may be awarded according to individual needs.
Geographic Scope: For international women students studying in U.S. or Canada
Eligibility Period: September 15 to December 15
Award Conditions
- At time of application, applicant required to indicate additional financial resources adequate to meet estimated expenses
- Examples of additional resources: personal and family funds, tuition waivers, work, scholarships, teaching assistantships, study grants and other scholarships
Eligibility Requirements
A woman is eligible if she:
Ineligibility Criteria
- Doctoral students who have completed coursework and are working only on dissertations are not eligible as first-time applicants
- Student who is citizen or permanent resident of United States or Canada is not eligible
- Student with residency for tax purposes only is permitted
- Scholarships not given for online courses, research, internships or for practical training if not combined with formal coursework
Timeline
- Applications accepted September 15 to December 15 each year
- Applications will be accepted again starting September 15, 2026
- Announcement of awards made in May
