International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund
Purpose: Provides scholarships for international women students to pursue graduate study in the United States or Canada.
Geographic Scope: Scholarships for study in United States or Canada; applicants must be from outside the U.S. and Canada
Award Type: Need-based scholarships
Maximum Award Amount: $12,500 per student
Award Basis: Based on demonstrated need; award not intended to cover all academic or personal expenses. Lesser amounts may be awarded according to individual needs.
Application Period: September 15 to December 15 (annually)
Award Announcement: Made in May
- Woman outside the United States and Canada
- Seeking advanced degree from accredited college or university in U.S. or Canada
- Will return to home country to utilize education to make positive impact and foster global peace
- Has full year of formal coursework remaining
- Enrolled and in residence in U.S. or Canada for entire school year
- OR is an international student attending Cottey College
- At time of application, must indicate additional financial resources adequate to meet estimated expenses (personal and family funds, tuition waivers, work, scholarships, teaching assistantships, study grants, other scholarships)
Eligibility Requirements
- Doctoral students who have completed coursework and are working only on dissertations (not eligible as first-time applicants)
- Citizen or permanent resident of United States or Canada (note: students with residency for tax purposes only are permitted)
- Applying for scholarships for online courses, research, internships, or practical training if not combined with formal coursework
