International Institute Funds Mini-Grant

The International Institute Funds Mini-Grant, offered by the Community Foundation of Mahoning Valley, provides grants of $500 or less to organizations in Mahoning and Trumbull counties aimed at preserving and promoting cultural heritage. Eligible activities include music, dance, art, food, and education. The foundation supports public charities as defined by the IRS and encourages collaborative efforts to enhance community well-being while ensuring integrity in resource management.

The International Institute Funds also offers mini-grants ($500 or less) for organizations, within Mahoning and Trumbull counties, that seek to preserve and promote cultural heritage. Mini-grants will be made in the amount of $500 or less.

Eligibility

Organizations eligible to receive grants from the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley are those determined by the IRS to be public charities.
This encompasses most charitable, scientific, social service, educational, and religious organizations described in 501(c)(3) of the tax code, as well as government entities and public schools.
Organizations that are not public charities may apply through a fiscal sponsor.Activities proposed by the requesting organization must directly benefit residents of Mahoning and Trumbull counties (or the surrounding area).

Ineligibility

Mini-grant funding cannot be used for general operations or to sponsor/underwrite an event.In addition, requests from individuals and for activities to influence election campaigns are not eligible while requests for retroactive funding for projects that have been completed or will be completed prior to the grant award date are not typically supported.
