Guy Harvey Conservation Educator Professional Development Grant

Geographic Scope: Florida (with expanding locations to Texas and Georgia as of 2026)

  • K-12 educators (elementary, middle, and high school)

  • Interested in becoming Guy Harvey Conservation Educators

  • Participating in Guy Harvey Conservation Educator Professional Development opportunities
  • Award Details:

  • Up to $300 per grant

  • One grant per educator per academic year

  • Academic year runs June 1 - May 31

  • Funds disbursed upon completion of professional development event
  • Eligible Expenses:

  • Airfare

  • Gas and/or mileage on personal car

  • Car rental

  • Hotel room

  • Food (limited per diem)

  • Stipend

  • GTM Research Reserve – July 27-28, 2026 (Sharks and Lionfish)

  • Busch Gardens Tampa Bay – August 28-29, 2026 (Ecosystem Restoration with CCA REEF & Marine Lab)

  • Florida Keys – September 12-13, 2026 (Mangroves and Marine Plastics)

  • Suncoast Youth Conservation Center – September 19-20, 2026 (The Art and Science of Coral Reefs)

  • SeaWorld San Antonio, Texas – September 26-27, 2026 (Sharks and Lionfish) [NEW]

  • Camp Jekyll, Georgia – October 10-11, 2026 (Sharks and Lionfish) [NEW]
  • Benefits Upon Completion:

  • Certificate of completion (6 hours of GHF STEAM content training, valid for one year)

  • Eligibility to request Guy Harvey Treasure Chest of classroom supplies

  • Membership in online GHF Teacher community

  • Eligibility for Guy Harvey Foundation Education Award

  • Attendance for two at annual Guy Harvey Foundation gala event (if selected)

  • Continuing Education Units (in accordance with state and district policies)

    Application Process

    1. Register for a Guy Harvey Conservation Educator Professional Development opportunity
    2. Complete the Educator Professional Development Grant application
    3. Submit application (tutorial available)
    4. Upon approval, attend the professional development event
    5. Funds will be disbursed after completion of the event

    Note: A limited number of grants are available; educators may register for any conservation professional development opportunity offered regardless of location.
