Overview
The DeBartolo Family Foundation's Adopt-A-School program funds enrichment and support programs for students, faculty and staff at Title I schools. To qualify, a school must be designated Title I in Hillsborough County, Florida — more than 162 schools in the county carry that designation, meaning a high proportion of economically disadvantaged students and at least 75 percent qualifying for free or reduced-price meals.
The Foundation adopts a school for the academic year. In 2022-2023 it adopted Mort Elementary in Tampa, donating backpacks and school supplies, teacher grants, and $25,000 toward building community through extra-curricular and social experiences for students.
Applications for the 2026-2027 Adopt A School program are open.
How to Apply
Interested Title I schools in Hillsborough County apply through the application on the DeBartolo Family Foundation website. The Foundation can be reached at 3820 Northdale Blvd., Ste. 100B, Tampa, FL 33624.
