Friends of Malheur Student Scholarship

Geographic Scope: Harney County, Oregon

Eligibility:

  • Harney County High School graduates

  • Seeking higher education in Wildlife Biology, Natural Resources, or other Conservation-related fields of study
  • Program Background:
    Established in 2018 by the Friends of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. The organization believes that to secure a future for public lands, investment in future conservationists is essential.

    Application Process:
    Harney County "Support Our Students" (SOS) manages the application process. Funds from other local memorial funds, foundations, and organizations also contribute to annual scholarship awards.

    Recognition:
    Each Spring, the scholarship recipient is featured in the Friends of Malheur monthly newsletter.
