Leadership Scholarship (Future of Medicine Leadership Scholarship)

Launch Year: 2021 (60th anniversary initiative)

Award Structure:

Amount: $10,000 per scholar

Recipients: One DO student, one MD student, and one PA student awarded annually (3 scholarships per year)

Additional Support: Selected scholars may receive mentor connections and ongoing relationship building throughout medical education

Purpose:

Recognize leadership talent and potential in Oregon medical students

Support students at intersection of leadership development and financial need

Support students with track record of community impact

Remove financial and other obstacles enabling faster achievement

Financial need (while not strictly need-based)

Students pursuing careers in healthcare

Eligibility:
Current students in good academic standing at:

Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific NW (DO students)

George Fox Physician Assistant/Associate Program (PA students)

OHSU School of Medicine (MD students, including MD/PhD or MD/MPH dual degree candidates)

OHSU Physician Assistant/Associate Program (PA students)

Pacific University Physician Assistant/Associate Program (PA students)

Program Unique Features:

Seeks to build long-term relationship with scholars

Mentorship and other assistance provided

Support throughout medical education journey
