Crook County Foundation Scholarships (Universal Application)

The Crook County Foundation administers nearly 40 scholarships awarding more than $60,000 a year to Crook County, Oregon students. One application covers all of them.

Eligibility spans graduating high school seniors, current college students who graduated from Crook County, and non-traditional students returning to education as adults. Criteria vary widely by fund: some focus on sport participation, agricultural engagement, community service or extracurricular involvement; others look for a specific career focus or field of study; and some are only for students entering the trades. The type of school does not matter for many of the funds — community college, university, online study and trade school all qualify depending on the scholarship.

The scholarship funds are created by local families and businesses, beginning with a gift from the late Paul Rowan, and each donor sets the criteria for their own fund. A committee reviews applications against each fund's criteria and makes the selections. High school scholarships are awarded in June at the Crook County High School Senior Awards Night.
