Overview:
All funding raised through the annual gala (VI VI) and the annual appeal (W Club) gets redistributed back into District 66 through the Foundation Grant Program. This funding initiative is designed to support teachers, administrators, and WCS in implementing innovative projects, improving teaching methods, enhancing student learning experiences, and addressing specific educational needs.

Eligibility:

  • Westside Community School student-serving faculty & staff

  • Administrators

  • Community clubs (though priority is given to teachers/classrooms; funding for community clubs is not guaranteed)
  • Focus Areas:
    Grants support innovative projects including but not limited to:

  • Innovative teaching methods and student learning experiences

  • Technology and STEM initiatives (robotics, coding, virtual reality)

  • Science and environmental education

  • Arts and cultural programs

  • Student support services

  • Community building initiatives

  • Literacy and language programs
  • Grant Characteristics:

  • Amount requested should align with the number of students the grant serves

  • Grants are awarded based on alignment with current funding priorities

  • All approved grants are viewed as a pilot program for the District

  • Priority given to teacher/classroom grants over community clubs

    Applications accepted twice yearly: October and January
