Organizations can present one DAISY Team Award annually to honor nursing teams demonstrating exceptional collaboration, commitment, and the embodiment of organizational values. This initiative complements existing DAISY Awards for individual nurses, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared success in healthcare.

Overview

Daisy Foundation Founded in 1999 in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, the DAISY Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the extraordinary compassion and skill of nurses worldwide. Through its flagship DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses, the Foundation partners with healthcare institutions and nursing schools to celebrate nurses, faculty, and students who demonstrate exceptional care and empathy. Guided by its mission to meaningfully recognize nursing excellence and its vision to serve as the global symbol of compassionate healthcare, the DAISY Foundation has grown into an international movement that uplifts and inspires the nursing profession across thousands of organizations around the world. DAISY Team Award The DAISY Team Award is a concept brought to us by DAISY Award Partner Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. It recognizes that while an idea to achieve better patient and family outcomes may start with one individual, it often takes an entire team to implement successfully. The DAISY Team Award is designed to honor collaboration by two or more people, led by a nurse, who identify and meet patient and/or patient family needs by going above and beyond the traditional role of Nursing. The DAISY Team Award will complement your on-going DAISY Award program that honors individual direct care nurses for their extraordinary compassion and skill. If you choose to celebrate nurse-led teams, we ask you to present only one DAISY Team Award per year,in addition to the DAISY Awards you regularly present to individual nurses. The team must be led by a direct-care nurse.
