Charles G. Will Writing Scholarship

Geographic Scope: Upper Arlington High School (UAHS), Upper Arlington, OH

Focus Area: Writing excellence and progression; supports freshman, sophomore, and junior students (emerging writers)

Eligibility:

  • Underclassmen (freshman through junior) at UAHS

  • Students demonstrating significant improvement and progression in writing

  • Selected by Language Arts teachers
  • Award: Winners receive a gift card and a book (selected by their nominating teacher) and are recognized by members of the UAHS Class of 1959 during their Language Arts class.

    Background: Established by the Upper Arlington High School Class of 1959 as an endowment fund to honor Mr. Charles G. Will, an educator who had a profound impact on their education. The fund acknowledges emerging writers and exemplifies the power of a class united in giving back to their alma mater.

    Selection Process: Each spring, UAHS Language Arts teachers select one recipient from each of the freshman, sophomore, and junior classes. Teachers recommend a book for each winning student, which the Class of '59 purchases and presents along with a gift card.
