Burbank Arts Fund

Geographic Scope: Burbank Early Childhood School (BECS), Upper Arlington, OH

Focus Area: Visual arts education; supports art supplies and resources for K-5 students to integrate art into lesson plans

Eligibility:

  • All Burbank Early Childhood School students in grades K-5

  • Teachers using art to enhance classroom learning across all subjects
  • Award Purpose: Provides art supplies and resources that allow teachers to seamlessly integrate visual arts into lesson plans, enabling students to learn through creating. Supports the philosophy that learning through art is a way to connect with the world, explore new ideas, and express understanding.

    Background: Established by Mark and Brenda Gerhardt in 2001 as an Endowment Fund structured to provide support into perpetuity. The fund promotes visual arts for Burbank students and any friend of Burbank can donate to grow the fund.

    Recent Impact: Funded supplies and resources for the annual Gallery Hop event celebrating student artistic achievement and creative expression. In 2025, the fund provided additional resources to support the growing number of student artists.
