Carole Fargo Summer Enrichment Scholarship for Visual Arts
Geographic Scope: Mahtomedi Public Schools students only
Eligibility:
Focus Areas: Visual arts including drawing, design, painting, print media, film/video, website design, sculpture, decorative arts, applied arts, and literature
Purpose: Help students participate in summer camp programs or activities that focus on creative fields in visual arts
Background: The scholarship was established by Carole Fargo, a Wildwood teacher, O.H. Anderson principal, and assistant superintendent at Mahtomedi Public Schools. Fargo was instrumental in implementing the CAPP (Comprehensive Arts Planning Program) in 1987. After her courageous battle with ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease, Carole established a financial endowment to support the arts.

Application Process
1. Complete the Carole Fargo Summer Enrichment Scholarship Application
2. Secure a letter of recommendation from your visual arts teacher or an adult not related to you
3. Write a letter introducing yourself that includes:
- Description of why visual arts are important to your life
- Your participation in visual arts activities both at school and in the community
- Any visual arts awards or honors you have received
- Description of the visual arts summer camp program or activity you wish to participate in
- Explanation of what you hope to gain from this experience
- How your participation will allow you to share your skills or talent with your school and/or community
