Background: Oliver's Fund was created by family and friends to honor the life of Oliver Zlonis, who graduated from Mahtomedi High School in 2002 and died by suicide at age 19. Since 2004, Oliver's Fund has donated more than $47,000 to support the mental health and wellness of students in Mahtomedi Public Schools.
Review Process: Grant applications are reviewed by an advisory committee consisting of a representative from the MAEF Board of Directors, the Zlonis Family, a mental health professional from the community, and one other community member familiar with local mental health initiatives.
Requirements: Individuals and groups receiving funds must provide a written summary at the conclusion of the activity or project. Foundation policy and IRS regulations require that funds be returned if activities are not completed.
