A.R.I.S.E. Fund Overview

Status: Active - 2024 cohort awarded

Geographic Scope: Atlanta Public Schools (APS) district, specifically Carver Cluster middle and high school students

Focus Areas:

  • College and career readiness

  • Wrap-around support services including:

  • - Summer learning and work-based learning experiences
    - Out-of-school/after-school learning (literacy support, tutoring, project-based learning)
    - SAT/ACT and ASVAB prep
    - Financial literacy and entrepreneurship
    - Mentorship and apprenticeships (technical and trade opportunities)

    Background: The A.R.I.S.E. Fellowship is a nine-month participatory grantmaking program that grows community power and influence by exploring systemic change levers for Atlanta's children. Fellowship participants learn about APS history, explore student achievement trends, and identify opportunities to grant funds for community-driven solutions. The fund launched in 2022 with the inaugural participatory fund model.
