Background: In 2023, RedefinED Atlanta began engaging with families and community members in Clayton County to learn about their desires for K-12 public education. In January 2024, they launched the Clayton County Grant Advisory Council with nine grassroots leaders representing the entire CCPS district. The first investment in Clayton County aimed to strengthen family and community engagement.

Total Investment: $100,000 toward family and community engagement programming

Eligibility: Eligible nonprofit organizations and public schools serving Clayton County Public Schools students

2024 Grantees:

Riverdale Elementary School (Full Steam Ahead program for math and literacy, particularly for students with disabilities)

Los Niños Primero (year-round literacy and STEAM programs at Fountain Elementary and Unidos Dual Language School)

Family Literacy of Georgia, Inc. (parent support strategies for grades 5-8 literacy development)

Clayton County Public Schools Magnet Programs (culturally responsive practices for Hispanic and Vietnamese communities)
