19th Amendment Centennial Fund

Overview: A collaborative funding initiative created by multiple philanthropic partners to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment (women's right to vote) and advance gender equity. The fund supported yearlong series of events and programs.

Focus Areas: Programs and events that:

  • Celebrate: Remember, honor, and applaud those who advanced women's rights and continue working to improve women's position in society

  • Educate: Tell the story of the 19th Amendment's creation and significance, including sacrifices made and the experiences of marginalized women of color

  • Activate: Encourage civic participation and provide solutions for increasing Texas's ranking in women's political participation (was 49th among states)
  • Award Amounts:

  • Up to $10,000 for nonprofit organizations

  • Up to $1,000 for public schools
