Our Mission The Dallas Foundation brings together people, ideas, and investments in Greater Dallas so individuals and families can reach their full potential. Our Work Using our deep knowledge of the community, we support programs that benefit children ages birth to three as well as the civic priorities of Dallas; these investments prioritize partnerships that reduce intergenerational poverty and meet today’s pressing needs while positioning Greater Dallas for a brighter, more equitable tomorrow. Investing in Innovation The Pegasus Prize is a $50,000 social innovation grant recognizing nonprofit organizations that use creative, data-driven solutions to address community needs in Dallas County. The Pegasus Prize celebrates innovation in action—amplifying each recipient’s impact, elevating their visibility, and inspiring additional community investment in creative solutions that drive lasting change. By supporting fresh, data-driven approaches and bold ideas, the Pegasus Prize helps accelerate progress and strengthen the community for generations to come. What makes a good Pegasus Prize Project? The Dallas Foundation is committed to investing in bold, transformational solutions to the most pressing issues facing Dallas County. Projects must address either:education, family & economic stability (housing, food), or mental health in Dallas County.The Pegasus Prize serves as a testing ground for the next great idea. Organizations with novel or unconventional approaches are invited to apply. How can Pegasus Prize funds be used? The Pegasus Prize can be applied to project development as long as an implementation timeline is included with the application.The award can support personnel, administration/overhead and any other expenses directly related to the project.

Eligibility

Who should apply?Applications are open to nonprofit organizations addressing community needs.Applicants must be located in the City of Dallas or Dallas County, and the project funded must benefit primarily residents of Dallas County.Organizations of any age with new projects that are less than three years old may apply. We will consider funding both the testing of new ideas as well as innovations that are in the process of showing signs of effectiveness and have the potential for growth and/or greater results.

Ineligibility

Individuals are not eligible.The Pegasus Prize cannot be applied to ongoing annual operating expenses of the organization or endowment funds.
