100 Women Strong OHIO Grant Program

Eligibility Requirements

  • Organization must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit recognized by the IRS
  • Organization must have been established for a minimum of three years
  • Organization must be located in and serve women, children, and families in the NE Ohio region
  • Faith-based organizations must be open establishments and not require religious participation
  • Not eligible: Political organizations or animal organizations (except those with programs for children and families)
  • If selected as a finalist, organization must send a representative to a meeting to present how funds will be used
  • Large grant recipients must provide an update on fund usage within three months of project completion (photographs encouraged)
  • Organization must agree not to create, sell, or distribute member contact information and not solicit members directly for additional contributions

Award Structure

  • Large Grant: $25,000 - $35,000 (awarded to one organization selected by member vote)
  • Two Runner-up Grants: Same value as large grant amount

Important Notes

  • Non-renewable: Grants are non-renewable; organizations may reapply after two calendar years
  • Voting by members takes place via secret ballot with simple majority determining winner
  • Multiple givings per year (First Giving and Second Giving)

How to Apply

Grant Application Process

#### PHASE I: Full Grant Application

1. Complete the Google Form application
2. Attach one PDF document containing the following information (5 pages):
- Page 1:
- Cover letter
- Founding, history, and mission of your organization
- Requested dollar amount
- Page 2: Executive summary of project description
- Page 3: Board of Directors
- Page 4: 501(c)(3) determination letter
- Page 5: Financial statement (2-year audited financial statement or Form 990)
3. Name the PDF with organization name and date submitted (example: YourOrganizationName-December2025)

#### PHASE II: Selection of Semi-Finalists - Site Visits & Interviews

  • 100 Women Strong OHIO selects grant candidates and conducts site visits and interviews
  • Objective: Complete general due-diligence review and investigate questions
  • Time commitment: Approximately 60 minutes
  • Required participation: Director, program manager, or other qualified representative must participate

#### PHASE III: Selection of Finalists & Member Vote

  • Three finalists are selected and notified
  • Finalists must send a representative to present at the 100 Women Strong OHIO giving circle event
  • Presentation time limit: No more than 7 minutes
  • Members vote by secret ballot (one vote per member)
  • Simple majority determines large grant recipient

1. Highlight the specific problem that the grant addresses for your organization
2. How does this project relate to your overall mission?
3. What will be the impact and how many will it serve?
4. Provide information on additional funding already secured plus itemized budget
5. Address additional outstanding funding requests for this project
6. How will this project be funded/maintained beyond 100 Women Strong OHIO's grant?
7. What are the projected start and completion dates of the project?
