National Skills Coalition fights for a national commitment to inclusive, high-quality skills training so that more people have access to a better life and more local businesses see sustained growth. The organization's vision is an America that grows its economy by investing in its people so that every worker and every industry has the skills to compete and prosper.
The organization operates through three primary program areas:
Networks — Building a diverse "network of networks" of practitioners, businesses, workers, advocates, and other stakeholders. This includes a National network across 35 states, the skillspan network of state coalitions, the business leaders united network for small and medium-sized businesses, and the voices for Skills campaign involving local workers. The organization creates opportunities for participating members to share experiences and ideas for reform with state and local officials.
Policy — Analyzing and reporting on state and federal policies that impact training and advancement options for U.S. workers, conducting research about workforce development policy effectiveness.
Advocacy & Communications — Engaging in organizing, advocacy, and communications to advance state and federal policies based on members' real-world expertise and communicating a vision for a strong U.S. economy to the American public.
