2023Alaska Airlines FoundationOld Skool Cafe is a youth-run supper club that serves 120+ youth aged 16-22 in San Francisco's Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood annually. Of that total, 30 high-risk youth are selected to receive in-depth vocational restaurant training, job opportunities, mentoring, and wrap-around services, 60 additional youth participate in quarterly workshops and 20-80 youth are paid as in-house musicians and performers. They participate in workforce development training, develop life skills, and receive comprehensive wrap-around support services. They also benefit from ongoing mentoring and coaching while participating in all phases of business operations, from cooking to customer service. Old Skool's training program is designed to be flexible, scaffolded, and meet the needs of our youth. The heart of the program is the mentorship the youth receive from success coaches.$10,000
