2024Alaska Airlines FoundationThe goal of the Covenant House Prevention Project is to break cycles of poverty and prevent homelessness before it starts. CHA will always serve youth experiencing homelessness. But if recent years have shown us anything, it is that our state needs a proactive approach to reduce the need for emergency response services. This pilot project will target youth involved with the child welfare, foster care, and juvenile justice systems. These youth are aging out of systems without the three most critical facets that contribute to successful young adulthood, financial stability, housing stability, and connection to community. We will provide intensive, individualized support and wraparound services, safe housing, and training to build the life skills needed to be a part of a healthy community and the soft skills necessary for meaningful involvement in Alaska's workforce.$10,000
