Wish Book Grants

The Wish Book Grants program by the Pittsburgh Foundation supports nonprofits in specific Pennsylvania counties. Organizations eligible for funding must be 501(c)(3) certified, allow only one wish submission, and focus on general operating support. The grants, capped at $5,000, aim to enhance community services. In 2023, $670,000 was raised for 100 organizations. The program thrives on donor contributions and seeks to align with the Foundation's areas of interest, including arts, economic mobility, and social justice.

The Wish Book is a soft-cover, printed book that is mailed to our donor community every November. Donors may use their donor-advised fund to make grant requests to fulfill the "wishes" on a rolling basis between November and March. In 2023, donors contributions totaled $670,000 to 100 Wish Book organizations.
The 2025 Wish Book should arrive before Thanksgiving. To fulfill a wish, contact your donor services representative by phone or email.

Eligibility

To qualify for the Wish Book, an organization must be designated as a 501(c)(3) organization. If your organization does not have 501(c)(3) status, you may apply utilizing a fiscal sponsor. Only one wish can be submitted per organization.
Wishes are for general operating support. General operating dollars are not designated to a specific project and may be used how the organization deems most appropriate.
Wishes are for $5,000.Must be located in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Mercer, Lawrence, Somerset, Venango, Washington or Westmoreland counties, or provide at least 75% of services in these counties.
