William Bennett Scott Scholarship

Overview: The William Bennett Scott Scholarship provides scholarships to African-American students at Maryville High School enrolling in four (4) year colleges or universities.

Geographic Scope: Maryville City Schools, Maryville, Tennessee

Award Details:

  • Year-to-year renewable award ranging from $5,000 - $10,000

  • 2022 scholarship amount was $7,500

  • Payable to the college/university in one installment at beginning of fall semester

  • Paid directly to college/university of choice
  • Eligibility:

  • African-American students

  • Maryville High School seniors

  • Enrolling in four (4) year colleges or universities
  • Renewal Requirements:

  • Maintain a minimum C average

  • Be in good standing at college/university

  • Complete at least 8 hours of community service each semester

  • Keep a monthly journal of service activities
  • Verification:

  • Proof of enrollment must be supplied to MCSF by the college/university prior to sending check
