About us The Civitan International Research Center (CIRC) is an interdisciplinary center dedicated to improving lives through neurodevelopmental research and the prevention and treatment of developmental disabilities. Established in 1989, the CIRC now includes over 100 scientists, clinicians, and research staff from around the globe. The mission of the Civitan International Research Center is to improve the well-being and the quality of life of individuals and families affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities. Pilot Grant and Travel Award Programs We support neurodevelopment research through the following pilot grant and award programs. Whit Mallory Award The Whit Mallory Award was established in 2013 in memory of Whit Mallory and his dedication to research and clinical activities in the field of developmental disabilities. The one-time award of $30,000 is given to graduate students or postdoctoral fellow trainees to support their research related to neurodevelopmental disorders.
